Welcome to the Backwoods. My name is Joe Simpson and I am the owner and operator
of Backwoods Stix. As far as I know I am the only surfboard builder in the state of Colorado. I build
custom surfboards and have been doing so for the last 6 years. starting out in the panhandle of Florida learning from
one of the greats, Robbert Davis took me through all of the in's and out's of surfboard building, then
pounding the important parts of surfboard building into my head day after day for over 4 years I came away with a
once and a life time experience and a new found art. Backwoods is dedicated to building the highest quality surfboard
for an affordable price. we have a variety of boards under our specials page but my real passion and love is making you that
